The mission of the Tennessee Black United Fund is to serve as a
Philanthropic and service institution that fosters self-help initiatives
and economic empowerment.
About the Black
United Fund
The Black
UNITED FUND OF Tennessee, established in 1994, supports a variety of
programs and organizations providing vital services in the Black
community. These programs include projects dedicated to improving
education, arts and culture, economic development, health and human
services and youth development.
How Can
IContribute?
The Black United Fund is one of few organizations using payroll
deduction as a primary revenue source. Payroll deduction is the least
costly, most efficient, effective, and convenient way for individuals to
support a favorite organization and cause through a central point of
giving.
How are
Donations Distributed?
Financial
grants are awarded to organizations and projects that reflect the Black
United Fund mission. Organizations are asked to present funding or program
proposals and to make presentations regarding goals and activities. The
Black United Fund Grants Committee is responsible for making
recommendations regarding award finalists to the board of directors for
final approval.
